24 HOURS IN ATHENS – PART TWO

Square

LITTLE KOOK

I came across this street on Instagram only a few days before the trip and of course, for the gram, we had to go. It is hidden down a maze of streets but it is hard to miss! A huge building covered in circus themed props and the road was a multicolour of graffiti and giant ice-cream cones. We headed in out of interest and ended up eating the most amazing crepe!

STREET ART

Pisiri street art is something that I loved, I am a huge fan of this kind of art and Athens didn’t disappoint. Below are some examples snapped whilst out walking in the afternoon.

AVLI THE BACKYARD

I came across this place on trip advisor and as I am very into my greek food I wanted the proper experience. From the outside we were a little bit like… erm is this right, do we want to eat here? But as you walk through it opens up into an alley style courtyard complete with blue doors and even a family of cats! The food was so cheap and very tasty, we couldn’t fault it and it was just what we wanted.

360 BAR

I am lucky enough to have had a friend at work who is from Greece and regularly visit Athens so he recommended this bar to us. We headed over at around 6:30 in preparation for the sunset views and to be honest we were lucky to get a table as this place is busy with the locals! A bottle of Prosecco was the perfect way to end our magical day in this stunning city and we loved watching the sunset and then the evening lights of the Acropolis.

So that’s it. Thats how we spent a a whirlwind 24 hours in the stunning city of Athens. No doubt I would return in a heartbeat and I wish we had longer! The greek adventure didn’t end there though I’ll be posting soon about my time in Mykonos and Santorini…
